Cooking class or tasting walk?
A class offers a shared activity in one place. A tour offers movement and a changing setting. Think about how your children respond to waiting, walking and listening before choosing either.
Confirm child places and participation
Check minimum ages and whether each child needs their own place. Ask whether children cook themselves, share a workstation or attend as observers. A child place is not automatically the same participation as an adult place.
Plan the meal and the rest of the day
Avoid starting a long tasting tour when children are already overtired or extremely hungry. Equally, a large meal just before the experience can make tastings less enjoyable. Keep the surrounding sightseeing light.
Check drinks and food alternatives
Ask what children receive instead of alcoholic drinks and whether substitutions are included. Confirm dietary requirements with the provider in advance. Choose a menu the family will enjoy rather than relying on a generic family-friendly description.
